Data cabling · South Wales

Quote over the phone.
Data cabling done properly.

Every cabling job is different. Every quote should reflect that. We survey on-site, we measure up properly, we come back with a fixed written quote, and then we install cleanly, label everything, and hand you documentation you can actually use. Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7, fibre, outdoor, comms rooms, tidy-ups, any size job.

Four honest scenarios. Find the one that sounds like you.

Cabling covers a massive range of jobs. Most of what we do across South Wales fits into one of these four categories.

01 · New fit-out

"We're moving into a new space and it's a shell. We need network everywhere."

This is the best time to get it right. We work alongside your builders, electricians and architects, run containment and cable to every desk, meeting room, AV point and WiFi AP. Terminate, test, patch, document. Handed over with everything labelled.

You want New fit-out · on survey
02 · Adding to existing

"We just need to add a few points to what we already have."

Small jobs matter too. We'll survey, trace your existing runs back to the comms cabinet, find the best route, install cleanly, label everything. Usually half a day to a day, fixed price.

03 · Between buildings

"We have two sites on the same estate and our network between them is 4G dongles."

Armoured fibre between buildings is often cheaper than you'd expect and completely transforms how two sites feel. Usually involves a trench or directional drill, a pair of fibre runs, and ODF panels at each end. We handle the lot including any permissions.

04 · Tidy-up

"Our comms cabinet is a rat's nest. Nobody knows what goes where."

We love this work. We document what you have, re-terminate anything sloppy, re-patch to logical groupings, colour-code and label every cable, update the patch schedule. You end up with a comms cabinet your successor could maintain.

You want Tidy-up · usually £500 to £2,000
Why bother with us

Three things most cabling quotes will not tell you.

Cabling is a commodity in the worst cases and a craft in the best. We aim for the craft end.

01 · Honesty

Every job is different, so every price is different.

Anyone who quotes you without seeing the building is guessing. Access, cable routes, existing containment, ceiling type, all change the price. Our survey is free, and we come back with a fixed written quote you can hold us to.

02 · Quality

The bit nobody sees is the bit we care about most.

How cables are routed in ceiling voids, how terminations are dressed, how patch panels are labelled, how your comms cabinet looks when we leave. Good cabling is invisible until someone has to work on it five years later, then it's priceless.

03 · Integration

Cabling, network, WiFi, IT, phones, all from us.

Most cabling companies drop cables and leave. We also patch, configure the switch, bring up the WiFi, install the VoIP phones, and hand you a working network. One project, one invoice, one team.

What we install

Every cable you are likely to need, installed cleanly.

We carry the full range on our vans. What goes in at your site depends on what you actually need, which we work out at survey.

🔌
Cat6 / Cat6a / Cat7
Up to 10GbE
The workhorse of structured cabling. Cat6 for most general office use, Cat6a where you might want 10GbE in future, Cat7 for specialist applications. Plenum-rated available.
🌐
Fibre optic
OM3 / OM4 / OS2
Multimode fibre for within buildings, singlemode for longer runs or between buildings. Terminated, tested, pair-routed through proper ODFs.
🏢
Outdoor / between buildings
Armoured + UV-rated
Armoured fibre underground, UV-rated Cat6a for external runs, wireless bridges where cable isn't practical. Trenching and drilling handled, or we work with your ground-works team.
🗄️
Comms rooms & cabinets
Full spec or retrofit
New comms rooms designed and built: cabinet, patch panels, switches, PDUs, cable management, airflow, labelling. Or a tidy-up of whatever you already have.
📡
Wireless access points
Any brand, any ceiling
Cable drops to WiFi AP locations, mounted and terminated. Usually done alongside the desk cabling so you only pay for one visit.
🎥
CCTV & AV cabling
Cat6 or fibre
Cable runs for CCTV cameras, IP PA systems, display screens, room controllers. All to the same standards as your data cabling, not hacked in afterwards.

Questions we hear a lot

Common questions about data cabling in South Wales.

If yours is not here, book the survey above and ask in person.

How much does data cabling cost?

Every job is different. Price depends on how many drops you need, cable type (Cat6, Cat6a, fibre), building access, existing containment, and whether it's a new fit or a retro-fit into an occupied office. For rough ballparks: a small office with 20 to 30 drops of Cat6 might land between £1,500 and £4,000. A bigger install with fibre runs between buildings is a different conversation. Send us a floor plan and we'll give you an honest fixed quote.

What cable types do you install?

All of them. Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7, Cat8 copper, plus OM3, OM4 and singlemode fibre. Which is right for you depends on what you're running now and what you might want in the next 5 to 10 years. We'll recommend based on your actual needs, not the most expensive option.

Do you do small jobs?

Yes. Any size, from a single drop in an office corner to a full warehouse fit-out. Smaller jobs we'll quote quickly, larger jobs we'll survey first.

Will you tidy up our existing mess?

Yes, and honestly this is some of the most satisfying work we do. Existing patch panels and comms cabinets that have been hacked at for years, we come in, document everything, re-terminate, label, re-patch, and give you something a successor could maintain. Worth doing before you add any new cabling.

Do you survey on-site?

For anything beyond a handful of drops, yes. On-site surveys are free and we use them to map the run routes, spot access issues, and price accurately. It's how we avoid the classic 'the price went up after they started'.

Do you do outdoor and between-building cabling?

Yes. Armoured underground fibre, directional drilling, overhead runs, external Cat6a with UV-rated jacketing. It needs planning and often permissions, but we do it regularly across South Wales.

Can we have our system tested and documented?

Yes. Every install is tested and we provide full documentation. If you specifically need certified test results with permanent link reports for a client or auditor, we can do that too. For most jobs though, what matters is that it works reliably, which is what we focus on.
